ZyGEM PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Rapid DNA Extraction Made Easy
ZyGEM has developed four families of products, each specifically developed to meet the needs of scientific discovery in basic and biomedical research, forensic science and livestock breeding.
The prepGEM™ range of products covers most sample types and applications in basic and biomedical research; it has also be employed by the NZ Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for applications such as insect screening for exported and imported products.
The forensicGEM™ products have been optimized and developed to deliver rapid, low cost solutions for DNA profiling in human forensics, they have been deployed in US police crime labs, such as Kansas City Police Dept, commercial forensic service providers, such as Fairfax forensics, and forensic research institutes, such as the National College of Forensic Sciences.
The livestockGEM™ range of products was developed for high throughput screening of commonly bred animals in farming applications. The first commercial user of the livestockGEM range was the Livestock Improvement Corporation, with whom the product was developed, with reported throughputs of around 2000 ear punches in 2 hours for 40-plex SNP testing.
The latest addition to the ZyGEM range of products is RNAGEM™, a unique product for gene expression analysis. RNAGEM™ has been developed for the extraction of total RNA initially from cell culture, tissue microbiopsies, and laser capture microdissection.
