DNA Extraction
Using
prepGEM™ Saliva
prepGEM™ Saliva is a single tube, enzymatic DNA extraction system optimised to extract DNA from human buccal swab samples, or liquid saliva samples, collected under laboratory, biomedical or remote settings. The kits yield PCR ready DNA in less than 25 minutes, sufficient for multiple assays. The extracted DNA is suitable for PCR applications including qPCR, SNP detection and routine genotyping: whenever rapid results are required.

Key Data
Taq-Man real-time trace of DNA extracted from saliva samples collected on Cultiplast® swabs. Standards (5.5 ng/μl; 1.85 ng/μl; 0.620 ng/μl; 0.210 ng/μl; 0.068 ng/μl and 0.023 ng/μl) are shown in red. Samples (blue). Samples we collected with a 30 second collection protocol and extractions were performed according to the standard ZyGEM protocols as detailed in the Quick-Start Guide. Each PCR was performed in duplicate, with 2 μl of extracted DNA being used as a template in a final reaction volume of 20 μl.
